Relationships work when two people make it work. There are no obstacles when it comes to love. And this is proven by a lot of long-distance couples. Some of them travel in Australia, get a job in New Zealand for a better future. Most couples brave these as they feel they have trust in each other, that distance won't be a factor for their relationship to crumble. However, there are circumstances that when people travel abroad and get their dream jobs in Europe or job opportunities in US that things start to change. This is what happened in the story of Maala-ala Mo Kaya, last night.
Loving your partner too much can take its toll. However, you still have to reserve some love and respect for yourself. An incredible show of love and respect was shown in Maala-ala Mo Kaya last night, when Roland (played by Joseph Marco) and Mary (played by Sue Ramirez) were featured in a love story depicting their sacrifices as a couple.
In the story, Roland worked so hard to earn a living for themselves, he got himself a high-paying job but he still worked extra so that her girlfriend would be able to continue her studies. However, Mary wanted to pursue her dreams and thus, Roland let her get a job abroad, thinking it would be the best for them.
However, when she found her job abroad, she also met someone else who replaced Roland in her life. Because of that, she left her for another man and had to let him go. Roland was devastated. Despite all the hard work he sacrificed for Mary, she didn't give it back. He was so broken but he found the strength to continue, even if he can't accept that she left him for another. Good think, he met Erika (played by Shy Carlos), who eventually became the love of his life.
