Medical experts would always tell us we should be wary of anything that involves our health. Not a lot of people go to dermatologists instantly when they get insect bites. Often times, these people end up regretting over the fact that if they just went to the doctor earlier, that could have saved them from terrible pain and sleepless nights. Same thing happened to Carelle Mowatt as she tells us her horrible story when she woke up with a huge blister on her leg.
It is usual for someone to just see some bite marks after a night sleep, but for Carelle Mowatt, this took a toll not only for her leg, but her entire life as well.
Last March 24th, she discovered an enormous blister on her leg, which at first, she thought was caused by a ringworm.

She didn't want to go to the doctor so the 24-year-old country singer foolishly tried to self-medicate, diagnosing it was just a swollen bite. She took antihistamines and kept believing it's just a blister.
But when her self-medication didn't work, it bothered her that the blister got bigger - and eventually, burst full of pus.
That's the only time she gathered enough courage to go to the doctor. They discovered it was an insect bite - one from a venomous spider!
“I started a course of antibiotics and had it bandaged every day. The pain was absolutely unbelievable. I became nervous about anyone going near my leg. I wasn’t sleeping as I associated my bed with the bite.”
Upon suffering terrible pain, she was rushed to A&E clinic and was bed-ridden - there, she was prescribed, intense antibiotics and morphine. It turns out she had a bad allergic reaction.
She said, “I had an actual hole in the side of my leg. The bite had become necrotic. This is when your body can’t recover from a trauma, when there is inadequate blood supply and the cells have totally died.”
But the worst is yet to come! The incident worsen after a month and her dermatologist had to scrape all the dead tissues so that the new tissues will be allowed to form. The surgeon specialized in spider bites thought her wound was already healing so it will definitely leave scarring and might even have further infection so removing the necrosis is the best means to get her out of this misery.
So, upon learning that - she had mixed reactions - she thought she'll be up for surgery. What her surgeon asked her to do is to let air pass the bite and clean it and take a shower. Her surgeon told her there's no more infection and what's next is to remove all the dead tissue.
She admitted that the pain really got her and now the necrosis is gone, she's on her road to recovery. And now she's back to work. She posted all these in her blog.
She then warned people to go to the doctors or A&E upon seeing blisters appearing on your skin. Here's another video to ponder about!
