Just recently, Kobe Paras became the talk of the town once again after he defended his title and won the FIBA 2015 3x3 U23 Dunk Championships. In the said competition, he won over strong contenders from USA, Uruguay and host country Hungary.
But aside from Kobe Paras being the dunk prince and his basketball skills, he also has a very big heart! That is why we're bringing back this ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video he posted months back when the said challenge became viral for a cause in 2014.
According to ALSA.org, ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. A-myo-trophic comes from the Greek language. "A" means no. "Myo" refers to muscle, and "Trophic" means nourishment – "No muscle nourishment." When a muscle has no nourishment, it "atrophies" or wastes away. "Lateral" identifies the areas in a person's spinal cord where portions of the nerve cells that signal and control the muscles are located. As this area degenerates it leads to scarring or hardening ("sclerosis") in the region.
For the cause, Kobe Paras got drenched so hard with a bucket full of ice and water. Watch the video below!
