Recently, reports have been circulating stating that fake rice is being spread all over Asia. The said kind of rice looks almost the same as what we're eating, only these came from China and they are made up of plastic. Agricultural engineering experts still have not identified the kind of rice this is, but hope this article warns buyers from buying fake rice.
The report came from a concerned citizen who suddenly noticed that the rice they bought is significantly different from the ordinary rice they used to buy from the regular store. Now, they find it peculiar when the rice didn't spoil after three weeks and when they pressed it, they noticed that water comes out of it. Also, the fake rice doesn't stick to their fingers, which is usual for the normal rice.
According to the concerned citizen, the rice, when cold, looks like styrofoam which is polysterene form. When burnt, the fake rice smells like sweet potato.
Specialists have been lurking over the matter. Agricultural engineers haven't detected yet why the fake rice is spreading and what it is really composed. But, the buyer of the rice desires to know what kind of rice they bought.
Now, the National Food Authority have been researching about the incident and went to the locality in the Asian country where the fake rice was bought.
Local mayor of the place have already warned about selling fake rice and that whoever is caught producing them will be extremely punished. According to NFA, results of their investigation will be released to the public once enough information about the fake rice from those with agricultural engineering jobs.
