This Baby Underwent Operation for Eye Tumor - But the Doctor Removed the Wrong Eye!

Surgical procedures are very hard to execute. Surgeons study for years to be expert in the field. But, there are still times when medical malpractice occur. Take for example the case of this child. Find out what happened and you will be in awe!

Fernando Jonathan Valdez Ayala has been suffering from an eye tumor on his left. When they went to the hospital, they were advised by a certain surgeon identified to be Armando Cisneros Espinosa to have the eye removed as doing so will lessen the risk of life threat for the baby. Because of this, the family of Jonathan started with the process of chemotherapy and agreed with the surgeon to save the life of the baby.

The parents then went to Medical Unit of the High Specialty Mexican Social Security Hospital in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico. This is where the surgeon performed the operation.

However, his relatives were shocked when they saw Jonathan after the operation. It seems like the doctor operated the right eye, instead of the infected left eye. The healthy eye was removed by the surgeon.

According to the hospital surgeon, he decided to remove the right eye because he detected malignant tumor in it. However, they won't accept his explanation since the initial investigation is that the infected eye is the left eye, and that was the one he advised to be removed. 

Another thing is the fact that these tumors don't grow instantly - they couldn't have possibly grown just hours after it was checked. Well, even if he detected tumor in the right eye, he should have consulted the parents first before removing them.
